Someone Else's Program

To My Fellow Entrepreneurs: Stop Running Someone Else's Program

October 22, 20255 min read

Hello there,

I'm Marc, the founder of the Reset-it program. I started this journey about 20 years ago, and what I'm about to share might challenge everything you've been told about building a successful business.

The Trap I Fell Into (And You Probably Did Too)

When I started out, I did what every "smart" entrepreneur does—I listened to the experts.

I followed their footsteps.
I implemented their strategies.
I copied their marketing approaches.
I spent my money the way they told me to spend it.
I did things based on their stuff.

And you know what happened?

I became really good at being someone else.

The Programming Transfer

After a while, I realized something that changed everything:

All these people were doing was transferring their programs, conditions, and beliefs onto me.

Think about that for a moment.

Every guru telling you "this is how you market."
Every mentor showing you "this is how you scale."
Every coach insisting "this is how you succeed."

They're not teaching you their success. They're downloading their programming into your operating system.

And as an entrepreneur, I wasn't listening to myself anymore.

I had become somebody else—a composite of other people's advice, comments, strategies, and beliefs. I was running a business, but it wasn't mine. I was executing someone else's vision with my time, money, and energy.

The Noise That Drowns Out Your Truth

The entrepreneurial world is loud.

Everyone has an opinion about what you should do:
• How you should position yourself
• What your pricing should be
• Which platforms you should be on
• How you should talk to customers
• What your growth trajectory should look like

And if you're not careful, you'll spend your entire entrepreneurial journey trying to execute someone else's playbook while your own truth gets buried under layers of borrowed beliefs.

When Everything Changed

The game changer for me wasn't a new strategy, a better mentor, or a bigger marketing budget.

It was when I started listening to myself.

When I got outside of the noise.
When I stopped asking "what would they do?" and started asking "what do I actually see happening?"
When I tuned into what was really happening in the market instead of what I was told should be happening.

That's where everything shifted.

Not because I found some secret formula. But because I stopped running on borrowed programming and started operating from my own foundation.

The Business Changed Because I Changed

Here's what most entrepreneurs don't realize:

Your business will always be a reflection of whose programming you're running.

If you're running on other people's beliefs about pricing, your pricing will never feel right.
If you're running on inherited assumptions about marketing, your message will never land authentically.
If you're running on conditioned patterns about growth, you'll always feel like you're chasing something.

My business has changed over 20 years—not because the market changed, but because I changed with my business.

And here's the most important part:

It's not my business controlling me anymore. I am being who I am in the business.

That is an amazing space to be in.

The Question Every Entrepreneur Needs to Ask

Whose program are you running?

When you make a business decision, whose voice are you hearing?
When you set your prices, whose beliefs are you operating from?
When you market yourself, whose conditioning are you following?
When you interact with clients, whose patterns are you repeating?

If the answer isn't "mine," then you're not really building your business. You're executing someone else's vision with your name on it.

What Listening to Yourself Actually Means

This isn't about ignoring all advice or rejecting all mentorship.

It's about being able to distinguish between:

Information (data, facts, market realities)
and
Programming (beliefs, conditions, inherited patterns)

You can learn from others without downloading their operating system.

You can gather insights without adopting their limitations.

You can be mentored without being programmed.

But first, you have to reset what doesn't belong to you.

The Real Entrepreneurial Journey

Building a business isn't just about strategy, systems, and scale.

It's about:

✓ Resetting the programming that keeps you playing by someone else's rules
✓ Clearing the conditioning that makes you second-guess your own instincts
✓ Releasing the beliefs that tell you there's only one "right way" to succeed
✓ Operating from presence instead of inherited patterns

When you do this, something remarkable happens:

You stop trying to fit your vision into someone else's framework.
You stop apologizing for doing things differently.
You stop wondering if you're "doing it right."

Because you're no longer running on borrowed programming. You're operating from your own foundation.

This Is My Story (And Maybe Yours Too)

Twenty years ago, I started Reset-it.

But the real reset didn't happen in the business. It happened in me.

When I stopped being who everyone told me I should be as an entrepreneur.
When I stopped following playbooks that didn't align with my truth.
When I stopped letting other people's programs run my business decisions.

That's when everything changed.

Not overnight. Not magically. But fundamentally.

And now, after two decades of this work, I can tell you with absolute certainty:

The most successful entrepreneurs aren't the ones who follow the best advice. They're the ones who reset the programming and listen to themselves.

So, Fellow Entrepreneur...

If you're feeling like you're doing everything "right" but something still feels off...
If you're following all the strategies but not getting the results...
If you're exhausted from trying to be the entrepreneur everyone told you to be...

Maybe it's time to reset.

Not your business plan.
Not your marketing strategy.
Not your sales funnel.

Reset the programming that's been running your entrepreneurial journey without your permission.

Because the business you're meant to build can only emerge when you stop running someone else's program and start operating from your own foundation.

That's where the real breakthrough lives.

That's where you discover what's actually possible.

That's where you become who you are in your business—not who you were told to be.

And trust me, that is an amazing space to be in.

Ready to reset?

This is what we do in our Ecosystem Labs—we help entrepreneurs reset the programming that's keeping them stuck in someone else's playbook. Daily 45-minute sessions where you experience what's possible when you're no longer running on borrowed beliefs.

Because the most successful business you'll ever build is the one that emerges from your own reset foundation.

Not someone else's.

Yours.
